MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – In its final homestand of the 2024-25 regular season, the Middle Tennessee men's basketball program will look to secure a top seed in the CUSA Championships when Liberty and FIU come to town. The Flames will be in the Glass House Thursday, with a tip off at 6:30 p.m. on CBSSN. The Blue Raiders will welcome the Panthers Saturday for Senior Day. Tip off is set for 2 p.m. on ESPN+, with Senior Day festivities taking place post-game.
Series History
Liberty holds the all-time series record, 2-1, over MTSU.
The Flames won the last contest in January, 73-63 in Lynchburg, Va.
Blue Raider Notes
• Head Coach Nick McDevitt sits in fourth all-time with 103 total wins, 57 conference wins and 65 home wins.
• Saturday's contest marked McDevitt's 218th game coached, surpassing Bruce Stewart for third all-time.
• In the first game of each month this season, Middle Tennessee has emerged with a win, going 5-0 over the five months, a feat that hasn't been accomplished since the 2017-18 season.
• In his 100th career collegiate game, Cam Weston matched his career high with 30 points against NM State, draining a career-high four threes.
• Weston's week, averaging 20.5 points in a road sweep, earned him Conference USA Player of the Week honors, his second time this season.
• Against NM State, Torey Alston blocked five Aggie shots, a career high for the freshman and matched the best blocking performance by a CUSA freshman and is the second most of any CUSA player this season.
• Middle Tennessee is 10-3 in the Glass House this season.
• Shooting an average field goal percentage of 60.1 percent, Essam Mostafa ranks 14th in the nation and second in the conference.
• With an average of 3.29 offensive rebounds per game, Mostafa is 21st in the country and first in the league.
• The Blue Raiders rank 48th in the country in rebounds, pulling in an average of 38.03 per game.
• Blocking an average of 4.5 shots per contest, Middle Tennessee ranks 43rd in the nation.
Flame Notes
• Liberty has won six of its last seven games, dropping its latest contest Sunday to Kennesaw State at home, 85-80.
• The Flames are 7-2 on the road, including a 5-2 mark in league play.
• Liberty ranks first in the nation in three-point percentage defense, allowing opponents to score on just 27.7 percent of shots taken from deep.
• Liberty is one of 33 teams in the nation with 23 or more wins on the season.
• Colin Porter ranks 19th in the nation and first in CUSA in assist/turnover ration at 2.88 and is ninth in program history with 378 career assists.
