How it Happened in Game 1
The Blue Raiders (18-21, 7-8 CUSA) surrendered a leadoff home run to Liberty (32-9, 13-1 CUSA) in the bottom of the first inning, but Ava Tepe matched the scoring with a solo shot of her own in the third. It was Tepe's fourth home run of the season and her 19th RBI.
The Flames then scored four runs in the third inning and three more in the fifth to take an 8-1 lead. MTSU never gave up, as Julia Garcia crushed a two-run home run over the left-field fence to bring the Blue Raiders within five. In the seventh inning, Macie Harter hit her fifth triple of the season to score Sabria Ritto for the final run of the game. Harter's five triples lead Conference USA.
How it Happened in Game 2
Liberty jumped out to an early lead, scoring four runs across the first three innings. The Blue Raiders responded in the fifth when Ansley Blevins opened the scoring with an RBI single to plate Sabria Ritto.
Down 4-1 with runners on first and second in the sixth inning, Anyce Harvey came in as a pinch hitter and smashed a game-tying home run over the wall. The homer was the 45th of the season for MTSU, setting a new single-season program record. Liberty went on to score once in the bottom of the sixth, which proved to be the difference.
