LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Middle Tennessee fell 10-0 to New Mexico State on Saturday afternoon at Presley Askew Field.
The Blue Raiders (19-24, 4-13 Conference USA) were held to five hits over seven innings. Kenny McKinley led MTSU at the plate, finishing 2-for-3 with a double. Brett Vondohlen, Hayden Miller and Matt Wolfe each recorded a hit.
Chandler Alderman took the loss, allowing six runs — five earned — over 3 1/3 innings. Ethan Imbimbo and Jonny Stevens combined to pitch the final frames in relief. MTSU turned two double plays but committed two errors that contributed to extended innings for the Aggies.
The Blue Raiders will look to avoid the sweep in Sunday's series finale.
