Patricia Dale Baker, 73, of Shelbyville, passed from this life late Thursday night, Aug. 4, 2022, at Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital after an extended illness.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Brother Jason Williams and Brother Bobby McGilliard officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Mt. Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held 5-8 p.m. Monday.
Pat was a native of Bedford County, born September 28, 1948. She was the daughter of the late William and Rebecca Allin Bell. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Becky McGilliard, and brother-in-law, Frank Butcher.
She was a 1966 graduate of Shelbyville Central High School and received a Master’s degree in education from Middle Tennessee State University. She taught at several different schools in the local community including Thomas Elementary and Southside Elementary. She also taught Sunday school classes and with the Adult Literacy Program. In her free time she enjoyed reading, puzzles and card games. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
She is survived by: daughters, Stephanie Adams of Shelbyville, Tricia (Jason) King of Smyrna and Jeana Waggoner of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Nathan Adams, Molly, Silas, Hollis, Adalyn and Isaac King, Rylee and Karley Waggoner; sister, Barbara Butcher of Mt. Juliet; brother, Mike (Tammy) Bell of Shelbyville; brother-in-law, Bobby McGilliard of Shelbyville; also many nieces and nephews.
