A man allegedly living out of his vehicle for at least two days was arrested after marijuana was found in his possession Wednesday, Shelbyville police said.
Vilaisack Xayaphoumy, 44, of Murfreesboro had been parked at Dabora Inc., Madison Street, where an employee notified police.
Officers said they found 5.4 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
Xayaphoumy was charged with possession of a schedule 6 drug and paraphernalia. He was held on $2,000 bond.
Drug charge
A suspect who police said possessed subungual THC strips was arrested Monday night at a Sevier Street laundromat.
Randall J, Swindle, 52, of Midland Road, was charged with possession of a schedule III drug and paraphernalia and tampering with evidence.
Police were called to the laundromat to check a couple arguing. They allegedly found syringe caps and a set of digital scales in a toilet tank and more syringe caps and a syringe by the toilet. Swindle admitted placing the items in the toilet at companion Kimberly D. Vaughn’s request, police said.
The strips were found in Swindle’s pocket, the report said
Vaughn, 48, of Lynchburg, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, and failure to appear. Vaughn was held on $18,750 bond and Swindle $10,000 bond.
Thefts
•Tires and rims were stolen from a small trailer parked behind a building on East Depot Street, police were told Wednesday,
•A wallet was reported taken Tuesday morning from the waiting room at the Vanderbilt Clinic in the 1600 block of North Main Street, police said,.
