Raging suspect threatens bar customers

A man allegedly attempted to stab several customers at Bar 69, Madison Street, early Sunday, Shelbyville police said.
Police arrested Juan Daniel Paez Salinas, 28, of Cedar Glade Circle, after he allegedly ran from and fought an officer and didn’t react to taser shocks.
Salinas, who police said was intoxicated, was ordered to leave the building by a security guard for ”acting crazy,” police were told. He then allegedly argued with several people in the parking lot before running toward the building with a knife. A man who tried to disarm Salinas said he was bitten.
Arriving officers found Salinas in the rear of the parking lot. Salinas allegedly ignored orders to stop in both English and Spanish and was eventually brought down by Officer Brad Evans, who was one of four officers in pursuit. The knife was recovered in the parking lot.
Salinas was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count each of evading arrest, resisting arrest, and public intoxication. He was held on $50,000 bond.
Homeless intruder
A women sleeping in a shed behind an Earnhart Street home has been accused of burglary.
Police were notified Saturday morning that a surveillance camera was showing someone inside asleep. Officer Joseph Cleek woke up Samantha Marie Ahnefeld, 29, who was near 15 alcoholic beverages, many empty, and several empty food wrappers.
All the items were consumed without permission, police said.
Ahnfeld, who police say is homeless, was held on $4,000 bond.
Inmate attacked
Video surveillance confirmed a Bedford County Jail inmate was attacked by another inmate June 9.
The victim notified a deputy Friday that the suspect punched him for 30 seconds, then came to his bunk several minutes later and took several items. He said guards were told of the assault at the time.
Drug arrest
Bags containing approximately 44 grams of marijuana were found in a vehicle during a traffic stop Friday night on Madison Street, Shelbyville police said.
Joslyn Danielle Sanders, 31, of Chunn Lane was charged with possession of a schedule II drug for resale, along with vehicle violations, and released on $15,000 bond.
Sanders was stopped by Officer Tracy Teal because a taillight was out. Teal said he smelled marijuana when talking to her, leading to the search.

•A four-wheeler was stolen from a shed at a Card Road home overnight Thursday, a Bedford County deputy was told.
