Rev. Herschel Douglas Moore, 74, of Shelbyville died Thursday, June 9, 2022.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, June 12 at Hillcrest Funeral Home, Rev. Joe Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Saturday.
He was a native of Bedford County, serving in the ministry for 52 years and Senior Pastor of Miracle Tabernacle Church for 42 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in Korea during the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Herschel and Mary Frances Douglas Moore and his 1st wife of 52 years, Jeanette Petty Moore.
Rev. Moore is survived by his wife, Sherry Dixon Moore; two sons, Joshua (Michelle) Moore, James Benjamin “Ben” Moore; step-children, Michael Tackett Jr. and Belinda Caldwell; brothers, Ronnie (Laurie) Moore, James Rannie (Jeannie) Moore; sister, Deborah (George) Puckett; five grandchildren, Mariah Moore, Nicholas Moore, Madeline Moore, Eli Moore and Jacob Moore; four step-grandchildren, Gavin Jones, Jacob Caldwell, Luke Caldwell and Kalie Caldwell.
