SHELBYVILLE — Offense was a struggle for Shelbyville Central in a home loss to visiting Riverdale on Friday night.
The Warriors held the Eagles to single figures in the first three quarters and handed Shelbyville a 61-29 defeat.
Riverdale put three players in double figures, while Joe Harris was the top scorer for the Eagles.
The Warriors went for 16 points in the opening quarter, while Tae'Shawn Shelton and Kyler Trice knocked down the only field goals of the opening frame.
Not much changed in the second quarter as Riverdale steamed ahead on a 15-5 run, with Malek Johnson knocking down a three-pointer for the Eagles just before halftime.
In the third, the Eagles held Riverdale to eight points, but still just struggled to get shots to fall.
Shelbyville did score 13 points in the third, but Riverdale closed the game with 21 more points to put the game out of reach.
Shelbyville connected on five treys in the game, three of which came from Harris, but made just two free throws.
Shelbyville will be back at home on Tuesday night, hosting Independence.
