NOLENSVILLE - The Community Vikings put runners on base in every inning, but stranded 13 runners without plating a run as the Marshall County Tigers defeated the Vikings 6-0 in a losers bracket game of the District 12-AA tournament Monday night.

Community (21-14) sent 34 batters to the plate in the game versus 32 batters for the Tigers, but the Vikings left two runners on base in six of the seven innings as their season ended with the loss.

The Vikings had to play catch up as the Tigers took an early 3-0 lead in the opening inning. Marshall County had four hits, with three of the hits producing runs.

A Tiger single and double to lead off the third inning set the stage for a sacrifice fly as Marshall County increased its lead to 4-0.

Three hits, including an RBI-single and a wild pitch gave the Tigers their final two runs in the sixth inning and put Marshall County up 6-0.

Meanwhile, the Viking offense was stymied all night as Community could not produce a clutch hit.

Jackson Bailey led the Viking seven-hit attack with two singles.

Bailey started on the mound with Will Reed in relief.

It was the final game for eight Viking seniors as Community played its final game as a member of District 12-AA.
