Shelbyville Central’s appeal to the TSSAA to remain in Class 5A was denied on Thursday.
The Golden Eagles were placed in 6A when the reclassification was announced a few weeks ago, but the school's administration originally reported the wrong enrollment numbers which led to the appeal.
Shelbyville Central will now be in Region 3-6A with Coffee County, Warren County, Lebanon and Cookeville.
This Region will match up with Region 4-6A in the first three rounds of the playoffs with Oakland, Riverdale, Blackman, Stewarts Creek, Rockvale and Siegel.
Cascade and Community were also sorted into new districts for the two-year period.
Cascade will join Region 5-AA with Forrest, Mt. Pleasant, Loretto, Richland and Summertown.
Community will join Class 3A and will be in Region 4-AAA. The Vikings will face Giles County, Grundy County, Cannon County, and Sequatchie County in their region slate.
The Webb School will compete in the Division II Class A East Region and will compete against Grace Baptist, Friendship Christian, Lakeway Christian, MTCS and the King's Academy.
The next reclassification is scheduled in two years.
