Bedford County Schools Superintendent Tammy Garrett has announced the resignation of Southside Elementary School Principal Stefanie Landis.
“Dr. Landis has decided that she wishes to pursue other interests,” said Garrett. “We appreciate her time and service to the staff and students at Southside Elementary. We will be posting the position and going through the interview process to find a replacement.”
Landis was appointed principal of Southside in July of 2021 and served as assistant principal of the elementary school for four years prior.
“We thank Dr. Landis for her years in the Bedford County Schools district, serving as a teacher and in leadership roles. We wish her all the best for her future,” recently commented Garrett.
Garrett further stated that current Southside Elementary School Assistant Principal, Lindsay Cole, will serve as interim principal. Current instructional coach, Melynda Whitaker, will serve as interim assistant principal.
