Penalties Sports Bar & Grill, 1731 North Main, serves up a variety of menu items from Nashville Hot Chicken Sliders to Deep Fried Oreos. A big focus each December at Penalties is making sure children have toys for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
The 2020 event was partnered with Shelbyville Fire Department’s annual toy collection. The sports bar held a concert in early December, featuring The Double Shot Band of Lynchburg. Penalties customers were given deals on their cover charge for bringing in a new toy.
“We were overwhelmed with the participation and support we received from our customers, friends and the community,” said Shondelle Lewis. “We raised $1,500 on top of the toys donated the night of the concert, so Rob and I went on a huge shopping spree on 12/6. It was fantastic! We also raised an additional $500 with our Monday Night Poker League that will go to next year's campaign, as the fire department was able to fulfill all sign-ups plus some.”
