Jenni Byford recently expressed how she was "ecstatic" to be named the 2021Thomas Magnet Teacher of the Year.
"Thomas Magnet is a wonderful school with many talented teachers, administrators, and staff," she says. "I feel lucky to work with each of them every day and am honored to have been chosen to represent our school in this way."

The Thomas teacher notes her hobbies include kayaking, boating, cooking and camping with family and friends.
"The aspect I love the most about teaching is my students and the opportunity to build relationships with my students. We spend many hours together in a year's time and I enjoy watching them learn and grow throughout the year."
She reveals how her teaching career began in 1992 in Franklin County. "This is my 21st year of teaching and I have taught grades 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th throughout my career. I love being a Thomas Tiger and feel I have found my forever home here."
