Thieves steal guns, TV from homes

Thefts from three homes have been reported in Bedford County,

•A pistol, revolver and jewelry box were stolen from a home on Creekside Lane during early afternoon Wednesday, a Bedford County Sheriff’s Office report said.

The back door and a window were found open and a bedroom ransacked.

•A television, gaming system and games are missing from a Cedar River Road home, police said.

A man who had been house-sitting was listed as a suspect.

•An engagement ring valued at $1,600 was stolen from a home on Jennifer Circle last week, police were told Wednesday.

A suspect may have pawned the ring, according to the owner.

•Prescription medication and $60 were stolen from a vehicle at a Neeley Avenue apartment parking lot while the owner was jailed, Shelbyville police were told Wednesday. A suspect was named.

•A CB radio and antenna were removed from a dump truck on West Lane Street since last Friday, police said.

***Theft suspect

A man was charged with stealing a cellphone left on a counter Wednesday at Landers Tire, South Cannon Boulevard.

The victim’s description of the suspect’s vehicle helped identify Matthew Steven Cagle, 36, of Shelbyville, Officers found Cagle allegedly attempting to sell the phone at a Butler Avenue residence where police were executing a search warrant on an unrelated matter. Cagle is charged with theft of property.

***Shoplifting

•A Murfreesboro woman who told Shelbyville police she was high on medication was charged with shoplifting $68 worth of clothing Wednesday at Walmart.

Jessica Leigh Thomas, 27, allegedly told police she had a small amount of heroin in the clothing she was wearing, but didn’t mention it until she was inside Bedford County Jail’s booking area.

Thomas, who police said has been banned from several other Walmart stores, was also charged with criminal trespassing, public intoxication, possession of schedule I drug, introduction of drugs into penal facility, criminal trespassing and probation revocation. She was held on $24,500 bond.

•Candy Lee Zanella, 38, of Manchester was charged with shoplifting a pair of sunglasses Tuesday at Walmart, police said.

Zanella is on probation for shoplifting in Coffee County, according to the report.

•Bonnie Joe Brown, 33, Rabbit Branch Road; criminal simulation; released, $5,000 bond

•Shana Deanne Bryan, 31, Alta Avenue; possession of schedule II drug with intent to sell, possession of firearm during felony, possession of drug paraphernalia, felon in possession of firearm; held, $57,000 bond

•Matthew Steven Cagle, 36, U.S. 41A; possession of schedule II drug with intent to sell, possession of firearm during felony, possession of drug paraphernalia, felon in possession of firearm, theft of property (two counts), theft of property over $1,000; held, $48,000 bond

•Amanda Marie Mason, 36, Madison Street; driving on suspended license; released, no bond

•Lakia Shydia Mayberry, 22, Landers Street; no driver’s license, leaving scene of an accident; released, $2,500 bond

•Erika Amber Navarro, 30, Halls Mill Road; possession of schedule II drug with intent to sell, possession of firearm during felony, possession of drug paraphernalia; held, $11,000 bond

•Amanda Renee Rempfer, 30, Clarksville; leaving scene of accident; citation issued

•Matthew James Reusch, 25, Lewisburg; possession of schedule II drug with intent to sell, possession of firearm during felony, possession of drug paraphernalia; held, $10,500 bond

•Jeffrey Allen Stokes, 30, Scales Road; vandalism, possession of schedule II drug with intent to sell, possession of firearm during felony, possession of drug paraphernalia, felon in possession of firearm; held, $46,000 bond

•Jessica Leigh Taylor, 33, Murfreesboro; theft involving merchandise-shoplifting, public intoxication, possession of schedule I drug, introduction of drugs into penal facility, criminal trespassing, probation revocation; held, $24,500 bond

•Markel Marquis Thomas, 27, Butler Avenue; possession of schedule II drug with intent to sell, possession of firearm during felony, possession of drug paraphernalia; held, $11,000 bond

•Jamal Washington, 33, Tyne Road; possession of schedule II drug with intent to sell, possession of firearm during felony, possession of drug paraphernalia, felon in possession of firearm; held, $57,000 bond

•Candy Lee Zanella, 38, Manchester; theft involving merchandise; released, $3,500 bond
