Saturday afternoon's District 8-AAA contest between tournament host Shelbyville Central and Coffee County was marred by tragedy.
After the fourth inning ended, umpire Gerald Tidwell collapsed on the field and subsequently passed away.
It's unclear when Tidwell passed away.
The two teams resumed play on Sunday afternoon and Coffee County took the 9-6 win over Shelbyville.
On Sunday, Coffee County plated three runs in the fifth and sixth innings, while the Eagles managed just a single run in the final three frames.
Aiden Edwards went 3-for-5 in the game, while Raine Sims recorded a two-hit game.
