LAWRENCEBURG — Following a rough first set on Tuesday afternoon at Lawrence County, the Community Viqueens made the following two sets interesting, but in the end didn’t have enough to get over the hump in a three-set loss.
Lawrence County dominated the first set and took the early lead by posting a 25-10 win to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Community rallied and pushed the hosts to a 25-23 second set, but came up just short.
That trend continued into the third set where Lawrence County finished the match with a 25-21 third set.
M.J. Simmons and Jacey Collier each recorded four kills, while Lizzy Beasley added five.
Breanna Grooms tallied eight digs and an ace, while Kassidie Mack chipped in six.
The Viqueens will be back on their home court this evening at 6 p.m. facing Central Magnet.
