NASHVILLE - The Community Viqueens took the lead with a four-run fourth inning after two were out, highlighted by a 3-run homer from Zoey Dixon and went on to defeat the CPA Lady Lions 7-3 in a softball matchup Monday night.

After CPA took a 1-0 first inning lead, the Viqueens bounced back to tie the game in the second.

Hailey Farrar walked to lead off the inning and advanced to second on a single by Haley Mitchell.

Rilley Davis laid down a sacrifice bunt, advancing Farrar to third.

A Kelsey Kupczyk groundout scored Farrar, tying the game at 1-1.

Community (7-3-1) put two runners on base to start the fourth inning as Mitchell led off with a double and Davis was hit by a pitch.

With two out, Abigail Murrill singled to score courtesy runner Madison Sudberry to put the Viqueens up 2-1.

On an 0-1 pitch, Dixon cleared the bases with a line drive over the fence to give the Viqueens a 5-1 lead.

The Lady Lions responded with two runs in the bottom of the fourth to cut the Viqueen lead to 5-3, but Community bounced back in the top of the fifth.

Davis singled and Emma Bentley was hit by a pitch to put two Viqueens on base.

With two outs, errors by the CPA defense allowed two Community runs to score and gave the Viqueens a 7-3 lead.

Meanwhile, starting pitcher Mitchell kept the Lady Lions in check the rest of the way.

Mitchell struck out three and walked three as she went the distance for the win.

Dixon and Abigail Brown each had three hits to lead the Viqueen 11-hit attack while Mitchell added a double and a single.

Community is off the rest of the week and will return to play Monday with a home game against Culleoka.

First pitch is 5 p.m.
