Mrs. Virginia Ezell Smith, age 96, of Bell Buckle, Tennessee, died Tuesday morning, December 22, 2020 in Shelbyville, Tennessee.
Mrs. Smith was a native of Bedford County and a daughter of the late Arthur Cecil and Annie Mai Purvis Ezell. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Randy Joe Smith; infant daughter, Dulane Smith; sisters, Mary E. Berryhill, Margaret Beatrice Maxwell; and brother, Ernest Cecil Ezell.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker while her children were young. After they were older, she began working for General Electric in Murfreesboro and later retired as a case worker for South Central Head Start. She was a member of Longview Baptist Church.
Mrs. Smith is survived by two sons, Larry D. (Sue) Smith, Bell Buckle, TN, Tony (Dealia) Smith, Bell Buckle, TN; seven grandchildren, Dawn Smith (Richard) Ledbetter, Kevin (Rhonda) Smith, Tracy Smith Boyce, Adam D. (Katelyn) Smith, Annette Carrol, Angela Conner, Ray (Kendra) Smith; 16 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Unionville Cemetery, Unionville, Tennessee with Kevin Smith officiating. Burial will immediately follow.
Ray Smith, Kevin Smith, Jacob Smith, Nathan Smith, Adam Smith, Emery Smith, Caleb Boyce, Daniel Connor, and Lucas Smith will serve as pallbearers.
In light of the present health crisis, everyone attending graveside services for Mrs. Smith is asked to please wear a mask.
