This Saturday is the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® — one of the world’s largest events to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
Registration for the event will begin at 8:30 a.m. with an opening ceremony at 9 a.m. and the walk beginning at 9:15 a.m. Attendees are asked to meet at the Jack Daniels Distillery Welcome Center, 133 Lynchburg Hwy in Lynchburg.
On Walk Day, participants will honor those affected by Alzheimer’s with the Promise Garden ceremony. The colors of the Promise Garden flowers represent people’s connection to Alzheimer’s — their personal reasons to end the disease.
While plans are moving forward to host the Tullahoma/Lynchburg Walk in person, the health and safety of participants, staff and volunteers remain the top priorities. The Alzheimer’s Association will continue to closely monitor CDC, state and local guidelines to ensure Walk events adhere to the latest recommendations.
