Willard Edward Wiser, 97, of Shelbyville died Wednesday, August 31, 2022.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, September 4, at Hillcrest Funeral Home, Chris Bobo officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m.
He was a native of Bedford County; a farmer and former employee of Bedford Lumber Company; a veteran of the U.S. Army, World War II; and a member of Wartrace Church of Christ. Willard was an avid fisherman who loved woodworking and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Algie Katherine Cook Wiser; his first wife, Mildred Mae Wiser; his second wife, Margaret Wiser; a son, Gerald Wiser; a brother, Wendell Wiser; and a sister, Marie Warren.
He is survived by his children, Sylvia Thompson and Larry (Becky) Wiser; brother, Franklin (Jackie) Wiser; sisters, Lorene Clark and Katherine Ankenbaur; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
