MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee women's soccer program and Head Coach Aston Rhoden has announced the promotion of Assistant Coach Hannah Hoefs to Associate Head Coach for the upcoming 2024 season.
Hoefs, a Maryland native, began her collegiate coaching career when she joined the coaching staff at Shenandoah University in June 2020 following her standout career as a midfielder at Loyola University of Maryland. She coached the fall 2021 season from July to November at Mount St. Mary's, working primarily with the midfielders and forwards, prior to rejoining the Hornets' staff for a second stint in December. She served as the Hornets' primary recruiter, worked to organize travel for coaches, developed recruiting schedules, conducted campus visits, and facilitated communication with recruits.
Hoefs enters her third season with the Blue Raiders after joining Coach Rhoden's staff in July 2022. She currently oversees all aspects of the program, continuing her focus on midfielders. Last season, she led midfielders Manon Lebargy and Eleanor Gough to Conference USA All-Conference selections, with Lebargy being named to the second team and Gough to the third team.
"With Hannah being chosen as one of the 30 coaches in the country to be a part of the United Soccer Coaches 30-under-30 program and having recently successfully completed her United States Soccer Federation's National C License, her promotion to Associate Head Coach for our Women's Soccer program is the next logical step in her coaching progression," Rhoden said in response to Hoefs' promotion.
"She's an asset to our program and a true ambassador for our university. I look forward to her continued growth and the great things we will be able to accomplish together."
The Blue Raiders are set to kick off their 2024 campaign with a meeting against the Alcorn State Braves on Friday, Aug. 16 at 7 p.m. at Dean A. Hayes Track & Soccer Stadium.
