Cheryl Renee Carey Wagner, age 61, passed away peacefully January 28, 2023, at Novant Matthews Medical Center in North Carolina with family by her side.
Renee was preceded in death by parents, Johnny and Mary Kate Beech, and brother, Terry Carey.
She is survived by daughter, Brittany Wagner; grandchildren, Rylan, Easton, Everleigh, and Jensen Martin, all of Locust, N.C.; sisters, Karen Register and Teresa Beech, both of Shelbyville; and nephews, Daniel Callahan, Erica Dunnavant and Kevin Perry.
Renee was a very loyal hardworking lady, she loved her family and daughter and grandkids. She loved the Lord and followed Billy Graham.
Renee worked all her life. She was very dedicated and worked diligently to achieve her goals. She joined the Air Force in 1983, and worked in the special intelligence unit often de-coding military messages.
Renee worked as a large loss insurance adjuster for Nationwide Insurance and most recently at Pure Insurance. She enjoyed her grandbabies, her daughter, cooking, and watching her favorite football team. Renee was such a joy and loved everyone.
Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Brother Randall Harmon officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
