Aldo Gonzalez with Shelbyville Fire Department was critically injured on Nov. 24 in an auto accident.
Shelbyville and Flat Creek Fire Departments and other members of the community have Facebook posted how they’re planning to help his Christmas be a little brighter.
Fire department volunteers refer to Gonzalez as their “brother” and want to try to help him and his family as he recovers.
A benefit ham smoke will be held. Hams are $50 each. Pick up is 10 a.m. to noon on Dec. 24. Several local businesses are participating including Sun Chaser Market in Flat Creek and three BBQ establishments.
To order a ham--just in time for Christmas dinner--Call 931-695-5646 (Sunchaser Market) or pay in person at 2301 Highway 82 South in downtown Flat Creek.
Volunteers are currently working on a means of electronic payment in case anyone would like to make a monetary donation. More details are forthcoming.
