Bedford County Recycling Centers will be making some changes to the acceptance of recyclable materials, effective Friday, Aug. 9.
PLASTIC: #1 and #2 plastic items such as milk jugs, plastic soda bottles, and plastic jugs for cooking ingredients, will now be accepted at the El Bethel, Unionville and Tollgate convenience centers.
NEWSPAPER: Newsprint recycling will now ONLY be available at those same three centers -- El Bethel, Unionville and Tollgate.
These three centers, which are open six days a week, will be the county's full-line recycling centers, said Highway Superintendent Mark Clanton. All eight centers will continue to collect cardboard and aluminum beverage cans for recycling.
