Donald Monroe Street, age 84, of Shelbyville passed from this life on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center with family by his side.A native of Bedford County, Donald was born on September 6, 1938, to the late Lacy and Alice Cook Street. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Ronnie Street.
Donald was a longtime employee of Frito-Lay Inc. and Heiling-Meyers Furniture and was a faithful member of Eastview Baptist Church. He loved taking care of his yard, antique blue truck, antiques, and his family. Most of all he loved the Lord.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Geraldine McGee Street of Shelbyville; daughter, Dena (Warren) Landers of Shelbyville; granddaughters, Lacey (Justin) Taylor and Lexi (Cole Krieg) Landers; great grandson, Turner Landry Taylor; and sisters, Lillian Skinner and Margaret (Jimmy) Craddock; nephew, Clinton Street.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2023, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Brother Jimmy Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Mount cemetery.Visitation will be held prior to funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.Memorial donations may be made to Eastview Baptist Church by mail: P.O.
