It was a great day on the tennis courts at H.V. Griffin Park for the Shelbville Central tennis teams on Monday afternoon.
Both the Eagles and Eaglettes claimed 5-2 wins over visiting Warren County.
The Eaglettes took three singles victories against Warren County, with Addie Berry knocking off Rachel Jackson in the No. 2 seed, 8-5.
Alyssa Fanning and Ryann Samons both claimed 8-6 wins over their singles opponents.
No. 1 Caitlyn Burdick fell in an all-out battle against Miya Rowland, 9-7.
While taking three of the five singles matches, Shelbyville swept Warren County in doubles action, with Burdick and Samons grinding out an 8-6 win and Fanning and Berry taking a convincing 8-2 win.
On the boys’ side, Henry Stone deliver an 8-3 win in the No. 1 singles spot, with Jackson Benson and Brayden Blackwell claiming an 8-1 and 8-4 win, respectively.
Like the Eaglettes, the Eagles swept doubles matches, with Stone and Benson taking an 8-4 win and Justin Spence and Blackwell grinding out a 9-7 win.
