MANCHESTER — Teams from all across the mid-state took part in the Sun Drop Invitational, hosted by Willowbrook Golf Course on Wednesday morning.
The match spanned the full 18 holes of the course, compared to the normal nine-hole matches teams participate in.
Bedford County teams were also well-represented in the invitational, with both the Cascade Lady Champions and the Webb Feet taking second-place finishes in the team competition.
Cookeville won the boys’ match, with a 299 team score, beating Webb by four strokes.
The Feet turned in a 303 score and were led by the solid play of Andrew Reeves and Eli Brown.
Reeves shot a 38 on the front and finished with a 35 for a 73 to lead Webb, Brown blistered his way through the front nine with a 34 before finishing with a 40 for a 74.
Phoenix Khramthong and Preston Hall each carded an 81 for Webb.
Shelbyville Central took third in the match and was led by Ashton Hardison, who had a stellar day as well.
He shot a 76 total score and carded a 38 on both the front and back nine.
Boston Boyce turned in an 85, while Seth Sharp and Corban Crowe shot an 86 and 87, respectively.
In the girls’ competition, Cascade turned in a team score of 159, just eight strokes off Cookeville, who won.
Tatyana Greene led the Lady Champs with a 76, good enough for the third-best score of the day.
She shot a 38 on the front nine and followed with a 38 to close.
Anna Clanton finished her round with an 83 after shooting a 39 on the front and closing with a 44.
Webb’s Kennedy Clarkson was the only member of the Lady Feet to participate and finished 10th out of 20 golfers with a score of 92.
