MANCHESTER — Shelbyville Central’s Golden Eagles rolled to a 5-1 victory over District 6-AAA foe Coffee County on Tuesday night.
We started off a little slow, but found our rhythm after some early goals.
Ryan Tacuba put the Eagles (4-3-1, 2-0) on the board first, scoring off a set piece from a Kolby Themm free kick.
Shelbyville Central’s second goal was a strike from distance by Daniel Torres followed by a Yahir Cervantes diving header from another free kick from Themm.
Freshman Fernando Gallardo finished the game with two goals for the Eagles.
“The boys are slowly coming into their own and we are learning more about our team and their abilities every day. We still have to learn to keep team’s shutout, but our depth is growing,” Shelbyville Central coach Chris Fritz said. “Each guy is learning their role and opening up to new ideas every day.”
