Eagles shine in Senior Night win

Playing their best basketball down the stretch of the regular season, Shelbyville Central's Golden Eagles claimed an impressive 73-60 over visiting Tullahoma in a District 8-AAA matchup on Senior Night at the Rick Insell Gymnasium on Monday night.

The Eagles took control early and never looked back, leading 15-8 at the close of the first quarter, 32-21 at the intermission and 55-36 after three periods.

"What a great game for our boys. Happy for our seniors to be able to win on a special night," Shelbyville Central coach Andrew Hicks said.

"How we played tonight is how I've envisioned this team all season."

The Eagles (8-11, 3-8) canned 11 3-pointers to help claim the victory with Devyn Heath leading the way with four.

Shelbyville Central placed four players in double figures.

Ja'lain Anderson scored a game-high 26 points, Daman Heath collected 16, while Jayshon Jones and Devyn Heath tallied 14 points apiece.

Krys Uselton netted 13 points for the Wildcats with Brody Melson adding 10.

"We still haven't played a perfect game but tonight we did a lot of things well," Hicks said, "We need to continue to work and build to finish strong heading into the tournament."

The Eagles close out the regular season on the road at Columbia on Thursday night at 7:30 in a district clash.
