Shelbyville Central loaded the bases with no outs then scored the game-winning run on a walk in the bottom of the ninth inning to claim a 8-7 win over visiting Columbia Central in a District 8-AAA matchup on Monday evening.

The game was knotted at 7-7 at the end if the seventh inning.

Hannah Burks went the distance in the circle, allowing 13 hits with five strikeouts and only one walk.

Kaydence Rippy blasted a home run while Kate McKamey collected four hits in five at-bats.

Lilly Brown had a double and two singles with Mary Alice Shavers and Evie Winfrey each added a pair of hits.

On Tuesday night the Eaglettes rolled past Cornersville 10-6 on the road.

The Eaglettes rallied for eight runs in the top of the seventh inning, highlighted by a grand-slam home run by Rippy.

McKamey collected three hits while Mary Alice Shavers and Jaleigha Harris contributed a pair of hits each.

Sarah Margret Housch got the win on the rubber, allowing 14 hits, with four strikeouts and two walks.

The Eaglettes (9-10, 5-7) played at Cascade on Wednesday night.
