Edward L. Hudson, 80, of Shelbyville, made his solo journey to heaven to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 10, 2022.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 13 at Victory Baptist Church with Pastor Loyd Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the church.  
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Jeanette Hayes Hudson, of 56 years on May 28, 2021. Other survivors include: sisters, Elease Armstrong of Shelbyville, Carol (Stan) Clements of South Carolina, and Lois (Danny) O’Brian of Lascassas; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Arle Peak.
A native of Shelbyville, Edward was born January 8, 1942, to the late Elzie Lee and Arlie Collins Hudson.
Edward joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1959, and served in the Cuban Conflict. He worked for Wilkins Motors and later Swanson Motors before opening his own mechanic shop, Hudson Auto Repair. He was a faithful and dedicated member or Victory Baptist Church for 56 years. He impacted so many lives and was loved and cherished by so many, especially his God children, Jon David Jones and Marisa Jones. He fought a good fight, he finished his course. He was Sunday School Superintendent of Victory Baptist for 54 years and was a behind the scenes member that worked faithfully any job that needed to be done, because when he set his mind to something, he could do woodworking, mechanical, welding, and gardening.
