Funeral services for Elbert Glenn “Bud” Cook, age 90, of Shelbyville, will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2020, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Reverend Jack Carney officiating. Burial will follow at Crowell-Cook Cemetery. Mr. Cook passed from this life Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

Visitation will be held starting at 11:00 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Family requests that masks be worn during services.

A native of Bedford County, Mr. Cook was born May 18, 1930, to the late Roosevelt and Lilly Crowell Cook and is preceded in death by his brother, Willie Edward Cook.

Bud retired from Empire Pencil after 40+ years of employment and from Bedford County Highway Department after 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, canning garden vegetables, and picking/hulling pecans.

Survivors include: wife of 71 years, Juanita Cooper Cook of Shelbyville; daughters, Brenda (Donnie) Hester of Murfreesboro, Linda (Danny Ray) Davis of Unionville, and Peggy (Danny) Caudill of Unionville; sisters, Nell Mearse of Morrison, and Betty (Donald) Rogers of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Clint, Chad, Cory Hester, Jeremey (Jenni) Byford, and Daniel (Shawn) Caudill; along with 9 great grandchildren.
