Faye Campbell Nix, 85, of Shelbyville, Tenn., passed from this life and entered into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 8:30 p.m. at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. Mrs. Nix was born in Minter City, Miss., on July 27, 1937.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years Bill Joe Nix; daughter, Andrea Nix; son, Joe David Nix; granddaughter,  Andrea Dawn (Chase) Mooneyham; grandson, Braden McTigue; great grandchildren, Izabella and Zaiden Mooneyham; brother, Edwin Doye (Bobbette) Campbell, along with many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents JD and Willie Campbell, brothers JD Campbell, Jr. and Franklin Campbell, and sisters Louise Brown and Ophelia Williams.

Mrs. Nix was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Shelbyville, Tenn., for 44 years. She sang joyfully in the adult choir and taught K-1st grade Sunday School for 32 years. She had a servant’s heart and served on numerous committees, Vacation Bible Schools, mission trips, and disaster relief trips.

She was also a member of the Gideon’s Auxiliary for 30 years helping distribute the Word of God. Her biggest desire was to share the gospel and she would often carry small New Testaments to give to people that she met.

Faye was known as a sweet, loving, and generous Christian woman by all who knew her. She will be so missed.

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Shelbyville with Pastor Jeff Rasnick officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Mount Cemetery.

Visitation will be held prior to funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. Thursday, at First Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, the Caregiver Relief Program of Bedford County, the adult choir at First Baptist Church, Shelbyville, or to Gideon’s International to purchase Bibles.
