Glenn C. Eychner, 93, of Chapel Hill, passed away January 17, 2024, at his daughter’s home in Georgia.
Funeral services will be 1 PM Friday, January 26, 2024, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Reverend Jimmy West will officiate. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in Willow Mount Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 11 AM until service time Friday at the funeral home.
He was born November 23, 1930, in Rome, New York, to the late Burt and Lula Eychner. He married Marjorie Trudell in 1953, and they spent 65 years together before her passing in 2018.
Teresa writes about her Dad: He was a “man’s man”. Hardworking and devoted husband and father. He loved Harleys, Fords, traveling with his family, and my mom.
Retiring from General Motors in 1991, after 25 years of service, he was a man of few words. He did not talk just to say something. He served in the United States Army in Korea and he held membership in VFW, American Legion, and Lifetime Harley Owners Group.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, four brothers, Clyde, Harley, Whaley, and Leon, and one sister, Donna.
Survivors include three children, Clayton (Darlene) Eychner, of Unionville, Teresa (Allen) Beiriger, of Newnan, Georgia, and Roger (Elaine) Eychner, of Chapel Hill; a brother, Gene (Butch) Eychner, of Marion, Michigan; grandchildren, Angela Cleveland, Lisa Apostol, and Jessica Boyt; seven great grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.
Glenn would be honored with memorials to your local VFW, American Legion, Wounded Warriors, or a veteran foundation of your choice.
