"Are you excited to see your grandmother, Maria?" Mom asked as we turned onto grandma's street.

Maria didn't respond because her mom already knew the answer. Maria and her 7 year old sister, Savannah, were visiting their grandma for the weekend for her 50th birthday. They pulled into grandma's driveway and seen her house. It was an old house, at least 30 years old, with rotting wood and nasty windows. They got out of the car and seen their grandma run out. She gave them all hugs and kisses.

"I better get going if I want to make it home before dark. Bye kids, be good." Mom said as she gave the kids kisses and their grandmother a hug. She piled back into her mini-van and left honking her horn and waving. The 2 kids followed their grandma into the creepy home.

Once they made inside the home, it looked better than the outside. The living room had a bright green couch and loveseat with a 70-inch flat screen TV. The kitchen had a long counter and an island with pots and pans over it.

Savannah jumped onto the couch and mumbled into the cushion, "I'm going to live here!"

Maria nodded in agreement and went to the kitchen to help grandma with dinner.

After dinner, everyone has taken showers and are laying down for bed. Maria is reading Savannah her favorite book, "Curious George". Savannah dozes off halfway through the book, so Maria gets up and goes to the other room. "I can't believe grandma is going to be 50 tomorrow!", Maria says to herself. She climbs into bed, shuts off the lamp and dozes off like Savannah.

Maria wakes up the next morning around 8 a.m. She goes and wakes up Savannah and the rush downstairs to wish grandma a happy birthday. The TV was programmed on the news. They went to the kitchen and seen grandma cooking and singing to an old country song. Savannah goes up behind her and scares her.

"Oh! Good morning, loves!" Grandma says as the girls laugh," I'm making breakfast, so just sit in the living room for now, please." Grandma says. The girls go over, sit on the loveseat, and watch the news. "paranormal activity sighting in Oxford, Mississippi. It occurred around 12am last night. A video is included by nearby neighbors, so stay tuned." the news reporter said before it went on commercial break.

"You don't need to be watching that nonsense. That's just messing with your mind." Grandma said as she fumbled with the remote to turn it off. Maria eyed her grandmother. "Why is it on the news if its fake?" Maria asked. Why is grandma acting so suspicious?

"Sweetie, they are just trying to get you to pay more attention to the news." Grandma said. She went back to cooking and turned on cartoons for Savannah. "I'm going to go read... Tell me when breakfast is ready." Maria said. She quickly ran upstairs and closed her door. She flicked through channels on the TV and finally found the news. As Maria watched the video of the paranormal activity, her eyes widened. The ugly windows. Rotting wood. The supernatural happened in front of her grandma's house.

Maria was still shaken after breakfast about what was on the news. Savannah ran to their grandma and asked what she wanted for her birthday since they had $40. Their grandma said she wanted a cooking set from Target. The girls got ready and got their shoes on. They gave their grandma a hug and were on their way.

The girls walk for 10 minutes until they were at Target and only 5 minutes to find the cooking set. When they were checking out, Maria asked Savannah if she wanted to go to the arcade they passed on their way to the store since they had $20 left. Of course, Savannah said yes, so they raced to the arcade.

It was 1:03 pm when they made it to grandma's house. When they got closer, they noticed they door was ajar. Maria quickly grabbed Savannah hand and slowly walked into the house. Maria whispered to Savannah," Be VERY quiet. Someone else is in here and I don't think they were welcomed." Maria dragged Savannah upstairs as quickly and quietly as possible.

"YOU LIAR!!" a scratchy voice said, "That body was supposed to be mine! If you won't give me it, then I will take it!" Maria heard grandma whimper and then loud bang and a strong wind sent Maria and Savannah down the stairs. A large figure came out of grandma's room and kicked Savannah as it was leaving. Maria quickly got up to help her sister and defend her.

"Wow! Now isn't this your lucky day! How old are you? 7 or 8? How would you like to hang out with me for a very long time?" The huge figure said, as she grabbed Savannah by her collar. Maria rushed to help her sister, but the figure knew she was coming and easily kicked her to the side. Maria hit her head on the wall and became very dizzy. Savannah began to cry as the figure carried her upstairs to Savannah's room.

Maria pushed herself out of the daze she was in and ran back upstairs and towards Savannah's room. The door was locked, but Maria pushed anyway. She could tell her head was bleeding, but she needed her sister back. She ran into the laundry room and grabbed a huge hammer. She hit the door knob repeatedly, and heard her sister scream.

"Hang on! I'm coming, Savannah! Don't worry!" Maria shouted through the door. She knocked the door knob off and opened the door. She seen Savannah and the figure, which she could now tell was a witch, pushing a black cloud down Savannah's throat.

"Why are you doing this?" Maria shouted through tears. The cloud then stopped and the witch disappeared. Maria ran to Savannah and hugged her and promised that she wouldn't ever leave her alone. When Maria backed away Savannah was grinning from ear to ear and had an evil stare. Maria gave her a confused look and frowned. Savannah began to do an evil laugh, like the witch.

"You're stupid! You believe a spirit would go down this throat and the little rat would be okay! This is your grandma's fault! She promised a body!" said Savannah's body. Maria could tell it wasn't Savannah's voice. She realized it was the witch. She ran to the body and shook and gripped it so hard, that her knuckles were turning white. She ran and got salt and water, like what she seen in movies so got a pitcher of water and tons of sat and mixed it and brought that upstairs and the salt. She poured salt around her sister's body and put a chair for her to sit in inside the circle.

"You are so stupid, child!" she said. "I will forever be in this child's body!"

Maria quickly threw the salt water on her sister's body and screamed. The witch screeched and the cloud ran out of the body.

"I don't need this stupid family! You all will regret this!" the cloud said as it floated away. Savannah, the real one, began to cry Maria ran to get a wet towel to wash her eyes. Maria comforted her and made sure she was okay and then they walked to their grandma's room. She was tied up to her bed, tape on her mouth, and blood all over her.

"Grandma!", Savannah cried and rushed to her. They untied her and began to wake her. She awoke with a yell, "Are you babies alright? What in the world happened? Maria, you're bleeding!"

They explained everything to their grandma and hugged her. They agreed that their grandma was moving away from Oxford. They called their mom and said they were coming early. When their mom asked why, they didn't know what to say.

"Grandma's house has nasty things wrong," Savannah said. Then, they packed up and left Oxford, Mississippi.
