Author William Wordsworth once said, “A lake carries you into recesses of feeling otherwise impenetrable.” It’s likely Wordsworth experienced how a lake is a great place to forget about troubles.  

It’s a fun place to skip a stone, watch the water ripple and sometimes hear laughter from boat riders. A lake can transport you into a restful state, according to Wordsworth. That is, if you take the time to allow such in your life.  

Bedford County can boast of its own such place of respite—Normandy Lake. Boaters, fishermen, and eastern bluebirds alike recently enjoyed the warm, crisp 75-degree weather on Normandy Lake. 

So, Spring seems to be just around the corner, which is a welcome relief after our recent cold, rainy winter season.
