The marijuana odor from a suspect’s car Friday was so strong a police officer in a vehicle behind was smelling it, a report said.
Officer Tracy Teal stopped Makaia Latise Bowen, 20, of Brooklyn Circle, for allegedly not wearing a seat belt. A search of the vehicle by Teal and Officer Andrew Koehler revealed two “large plastic bags” containing marijuana, 50 marijuana packaging bags and $680 in $20 bills, Teal’s report said.
Shane George, director of the 17th Judicial District Drug Task Force, said texts on Bowen’s cell phone allegedly mentioned drug sales.
Bowen was charged with possession of a schedule 6 drug for resale, possession of drug paraphernalia and a seat belt violation. She posted $6,500 bond.
