Funeral services for Rashel Lee Ensey, age 88, of Unionville, TN will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2022, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Pastors Jay Pope and Mark Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Hazel Cemetery in Bell Buckle. Mr. Ensey passed from this life Saturday, December 3, 2022, peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation with the family will be held 11 a.m.-1 p.m..
A native of Bedford County, Mr. Ensey was born on November 10, 1934, to the late Charlie and Mattie Ensey. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, William “Bill” Ensey and James Edward “Wimp” Ensey; sister, Charlene Pope; and beloved daughter-in-law, Genia Perryman Ensey.
Mr. Ensey was a member of Bell Buckle Baptist Church and was a 1954 graduate of Bell Buckle High School. He worked in the chicken business for Dixie Grain and Tyson Foods for 48 years before retiring. He enjoyed sitting outside, whittling, visiting friends, and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports.
He is survived by: his loving wife of 68 years, Joyce Brown Ensey; three sons, Michael (Becky) Ensey, Randall Ensey, and Darryl Ensey; 7 grandchildren, Stephanie (Kenny) Housch, Jennifer (Tim) Little, Travis (Brittany) Ensey, Darrick Ensey, Jessica (Michael) Leverette, Caleb Ensey, Josh Ensey; 8 great-grandchildren, Madison Housch, Morgan Housch, Jayden Little, Blaine Little, Gracelynn Ensey, Bentley Cook, Weston Cook, and Logan Leverette; 1 great-great-grandchild, Kinsley Lambertson; along with siblings, Roy (Dora) Ensey, Martha (Jerry) Hayes, Jean Lamb, Bobby Smotherman, and Tommy Ensey.
