LEWISBURG - Shelbyville Central closed out the soccer regular season with a 6-0 shutout over Marshall County on the road earlier this week.
"We really wanted to close out the season with some goal scoring and a ton of credit goes to our boys for finding a way to score five goals in the second half," Golden Eagle coach Chris Fritz said.
Cristian Ramos scored two goals, assisted by Edgar Solis and Yahir Cervantes, Yahir Cervantes collected a pair, assisted by Mark Hernandez, Edgar Solis scored off an assist from Drew Taylor with Bryan Contreras finding the back of the net off an assist by Eduardo AJ for Shelbyville Central (7-5-3).
"Hopefully we can take some of the goal scoring with us from today into next weeks' 8-AAA District semifinal game at home against Franklin County," Fritz said.
Kickoff is Tuesday at 7 p.m.
