CHAPEL HILL — After a closely contested first half, the Community Middle Viqueens fell behind Summertown in the World Tournament, held at Forrest Middle School.
Summertown outscored Community 23-19 and pulled away for the 48-37 victory.
Summertown led 12-8 after the first quarter and stretched its lead to 26-18 at the half.
Community outscored Summertown 13-10 in the fourth quarter, but couldn't muster enough to rally to the lead.
Stevie Dickenson led the Viqueens with 16 points, while Izzy Martinez added eight.
Summertown's Abbie Jo Shaffer and Rylie Blackwood combined for 34 points to lead Summertown.
