Clara Evella Chauncey, age 79, of Bell Buckle, passed away July 30, 2024, at her home, under the loving care and comfort of her family and Amedisys Hospice.
Funeral services were 12 PM Saturday, Aug. 3, at Fair Haven Baptist Church. Pastor Peter Allen officiated. The family received visitors 10 AM until service time Saturday at the church.
Burial will be 10:30 AM EST Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
She was born December 5, 1944, in Bartow, Florida, to the late Clarence Walter and Mildred E. Comerford Martin. She was a retired legal secretary and was a faithful member of Fair Haven Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Van Chauncey; children, Russell (Connie) Chauncey and Kimberly Boyd; grandchildren, Leigha (Jared) Featherstone, Joseph (Kristyn) Chauncey, Mitchell (Danielle) Chauncey, Ty Boyd, and Kylie (Thomas) Lovett; great grandchildren, Sue Ann Featherstone, Maddy Featherstone, Lorelai Chauncey, Elliott Chauncey, Tripp Lovett, and Johnathan Chauncey; a brother, Walter Dale (Kenna) Martin and sister, Lucretia (James S.) Bond.
Clara would be honored with memorials to Fair Haven Baptist Church Children Ministry, 2726 HWY 231 North, Shelbyville, TN 37160.
Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
