Ira Newton McCart Jr., 72, of Wartrace died July 20, 2023. Funeral Services will be held 2 P.M. Tuesday, July 25, at Hillcrest Funeral Home Ryan Miller and Matt Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday evening from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M.
He was a native of Wartrace; former employee of Eaton Corporation and Coey Tanning and was a member of Wartrace Gym Committee. He liked spending time with family and friends and loved gardening. He enjoyed helping others, sharing his garden and playing Secret Santa to those in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira Newton McCart Sr., Ruby Mae Elliott McCart and his sister, Dorothy Louise Ferrell.
Ira is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sarah Ruth Miller McCart; his son John McCart (Jamie); sister, Delores Daly; brothers, John R. McCart, Jess McCart; half-sister, Dorothy Elizabeth Dornbusch; four grandchildren, Kayla (Michael) Jenkins, Kristyn Neese, Kelli Neese, Kasey Ruth McCart and former daughter-in-law, Kaylee Jordan.
