Larry Ussery, age 83, of Chapel Hill, died Monday, July 15, 2024, at his residence. Mr. Ussery was born in Texas and was a son of the late Arvil Eugene Ussery and Helen Ruth Proffer Ussery. Larry was an owner & operator of DeLong Equipment Company. He served our country in the United States ARMY. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Lana Ruth Ussery Harris.
Mr. Larry Loved playing the game of golf. He enjoyed fishing and spending time in nature. He had a passion for woodworking and creating things. He loved playing various card games. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with them!
Mr. Ussery is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mrs. Elaine Ussery of Chapel Hill; children, Kelly Ann Ussery (Timothy) Brumbelow of Chapel Hill, Robin Michelle Ussery (Charles Susano of Knoxville); 4 grandchildren; a brother, David Eugene (Sara) Ussery of Franklin.
Per the request of Mr. Larry, there will be no public visitation nor funeral service. For those who wish, memorial donations made be made in memory of Mr. Larry Ussery to ALS Association, 1300 Wilson Blvd, Suite 600, Arlington, VA 22209.
