LETTER TO EDITOR:

This letter is in reference to an editorial "The Issue"  by Dawn Hankins on local  development and the Duck River in the Jan. 2 edition.

Dear Ms. Hankins,
Thank you for your article in the Jan. 2 Gazette. I pray our county and city mayors and council members have read it. If ever there was a time for them to stand up and carry out their responsibility to serve the public they represent, it is now. What are their plans for controlling responsible growth? What are they doing to reduce/improve water usage, such as repair of know leaking areas? This is the time for both city and county representatives to be proactive in establishing what guidelines are needed to be considered for approval and to be willing to provide that direction to our economic and business development committees. Please continue to be that public voice that speaks out for responsible growth. You are one of only a few willing to do so.

Respectfully,
John B Hall
