The Shelbyville Central Golden Eaglettes’ Girls’ Soccer program held two more signing days this past week for Carolina Rose and Jocelyn Hayitin.

Jocelyn Hayitin signed with Tennessee Wesleyan University, an NAIA school out of Athens, Tennessee, on Friday. Despite losing her sophomore and junior seasons due to two different knee injuries, Hayitin came back her senior season and was a key cog in the midfield of the Golden Eaglettes’ attack and was a lynchpin in covering in front of her defense as well. Not only did she provide a goal threat going forward, she also was an adept passer of the ball, tallying quite a few assists as well.

Carolina Rose signed with Motlow State Community College out of Tullahoma, Tennessee, on Monday. She has played all four years for Shelbyville, and became a key member of the Eaglettes’ defensive backline at center back.

Rose was selected to play in the 2023 TACA/THSSCA All Star Game, but was unable to take the field due to a season ending injury her junior year. She most recently was named the Defensive Player of the Year for District 9-AAAA to cap off not just her senior season, but a stellar Golden Eaglettes’ career.

All three senior signees from the SCHS Girls’ Soccer program – Paige Blackburn, Rose, and Hayitin – were high-level students in the classroom as well. They were each a part of NHS, and both Rose and Blackburn finished Top-10 academically, 8th and 10th respectively.

Head Coach Casey Curry had nothing but positive comments about her now-former players.

“They really are a great representation of our Eaglettes Soccer Program both on and off the field, and I am very proud of them!” she said.
