Community drama's upcoming spring play is called, "A Monster Calls."
Based on the novel by Patrick Ness, the play concerns a young boy, Coner O'Malley, who—one night-- finds himself unexpectedly visited by...something. A creature appears telling Conor that he is going to tell three stories. When he finishes, Conor is going to tell HIM a story, and if it's not the truth, Conor may die.
But there's more going on than meets the eye in "Monster", as the young boy is facing something in reality that is scarier...much scarier than any monster could ever be.
Junior Aaron Kight portrays "Conor O'Malley", while senior Parker Behrns takes on the role of "The Monster". The cast is filled out by Destiny Roaden as Conor's "Mum", Kalen Collins as "Lilly", Skyler Smith as "Grandma", Aslen Wright as "Harry", Aralyn Hanson as "Sully", Liam Simmons as "Anton", and featuring Jadikah Crews, Isabella Manire, Brayden Desanto, Emma Brown, Cheyenne Etson, Jack Burrahm, Sophia Bannister, Sophia Luna, and Pazley Morton, CHS alum Aaron Gaines returns to the Community High stage as Conor's "Dad".
The show is Friday and Saturday, March 13th and 14th at 7:00 at the Community High Auditorium. Admission is $5 at the door.
