Adam Leander Hunt gained his wings at the age of 39 on Saturday, January 14, 2023, in the loving warm care of Alive Hospice Residence in Murfreesboro surrounded by family and friends. Adam resided in Shelbyville with his two best friends.
Adam Leander Hunt was born December 24, 1983, on his mother’s birthday, in Killeen, Texas. His father was stationed at Fort Hood Army Base at the time.
The son of the late Stephen Delbert Hunt and late Janet Lee (Brown) Hunt, Adam died after a long 9-week stay at the hospital trying to recover from major surgery. Adam had the lifelong challenges of being nonverbal autistic (same as his older brother Kellen Stephen Hunt) and a most serious seizure disorder. Even with his life’s challenges he enjoyed a lot of what life had to offer. He was raised in a loving home with extended family nearby. Adam was a very sweet loving and energetic person. He was very loved and known by the Shelbyville community. Adam loved his action figures and his dinosaurs. Adam enjoyed swinging at the park, watching Grey’s Anatomy and listening to the rain. Adam was chosen to be God’s lights on earth. He had care providers that looked to all his needs and showed him great consideration and love. He loved: eating his favorite meals, people watching and listen to music.
Adam had his ways of letting you know what he was thinking and how he was feeling. For the most part he was of a pleasant disposition and easy to love and be around. Adam is loved and missed by all who took the time to get to know him.
Adam is survived by his brother, Kellen Stephen Hunt of Antioch; on his mother’s side, uncle Thomas E. Brown and aunt Letsie Brown of Shelbyville and her daughter, Wendy Tucker; on his father’s side, his uncle Alma Groberg Hunt Sr of St. David, Arizona, who was Adam’s conservator; Linda Bishop and Betty Allen of Moses Lake, Washington; Tom Hunt of Orem, Utah; Laura Deichman of Elk Ridge, Utah; Terry Hunt of Moses Lake; James Hunt of St. George, Utah; and numerous cousins.
Adam was proceeded in death by his mother, Janet Lee Brown Hunt; his father, Stephen Delbert Hunt; maternal grandmother Bessie (Dye)Brown, grandfather Roy Brown Sr., uncles Roy Brown Jr., Ernest Lee Brown, and aunt Mary Brown, paternal grandmother, Velma Groberg Hunt; grandfather, David LeRoy Hunt; uncle Roy Hunt, aunts Martha Hunt Johnson, and Vicky Hunt McFarland.
