Anita Turner Fields, age 87, of Shelbyville, passed away March 13, 2024.

A Celebration of Life Service was held Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. 

Anita Turner Fields, 87 was born in New Madrid, Missouri, the only daughter of Floyd and Itelle Turner on June 3rd 1936. She gained her wings with her Lord and Savior on March 13 2024, at her home in Shelbyville, Tennessee. She is survived by twin daughters Bonnye and Donnye Fields of Shelbyville, Tennessee; Son Leaman and Oxana Fields including grandsons Alexander and Gabriel of Knoxville Tennessee. Son John Fields of Knoxville. Alyssa Fields granddaughter of Kentucky. Anita was predeceased by her husband, Hoyt L. Fields after 44 years of marriage.

Anita graduated from MTSU with a degree in Home Economics and teaching certificate. She especially enjoyed her most important favorite role and wife and mother to her four children.

Anita especially loved cooking, which led to numerous awards. She won First Place for the Blue Ribbon Recipes for the 2006 edition Cookbook of the U.S.A Collective series Invitational. Also was winner of Fleishmans Yeast Bread which led to her being on Nashville’s “Talk of the Town” to share recipes several times.

Within the community she volunteered for a variety of things from 4-H to Nursing Home activities. She participated in Community Bible study and CWF. She sang in the Church Choir and in the First Baptist Living Christmas Tree and Fall Praise as well. She has also assisted Vacation Bible School and was a Prayer Warrior and lived out her Faith.

Anita was instrumental is helping her daughters start the Nursery School Business, where she assisted in shaping young minds.

Truly, Anita took her witness very seriously to be “busy about doing God’s work until the day she was called home!” Anita died peacefully in her sleep. As Mathew 25:21 shares, Anita surely heard these words as she met her Lord Jesus,”Well done my good and faithful servant.” Anita rest now in the arms of God forevermore. Psalms 23: 4-6. As her famly mourns her passing. The are comforted to know the will meet again! And they will continue living out her legacy as they were so blessed to call her Mom.
