Betty Ruth Nix, age 83, of Unionville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, July 24, 2026, following an extended illness.
Betty was born on October 25, 1942, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, to the late Horace and Jessie Johnson. She was a devoted homemaker, a faithful member of Fellowship for Christ Church in Shelbyville, and was well known for her wonderful cooking and the love she shared with family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, William Pat Nix; her children, Cindy Nix, Angie (Bryant) Dunn, and Glenda Melton (Melvin Neeley); her grandchildren, Kristy (Wade) Campbell, Jr. (Nellie) Dunn, Kris (Veronica) Adcock, Renee (Justin) Sims, Dalton (Robyn) Melton, Ashley (Michael) Zimmerman, and Lindsay Melton; 18 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, Glen Johnson and Jack Johnson; her grandson, Patrick Adcock; and her great-grandchild, Evangelene Dunn.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Fellowship for Christ Church, 142 Richdale Lane, Shelbyville, Tennessee, with Brother Ray Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow at Pressgrove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Doak Funeral Home and Cremation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fellowship for Christ Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
