Blue Raiders fall to DBU in game two

Dallas, Texas — Middle Tennessee baseball drops game two against No. 15-ranked Dallas Baptist, 25-7, in seven innings on Saturday, March 22.

Middle Tennessee (12-10) was led off by a single up the middle by Eston Snider, but the Blue Raiders couldn't bring him in for a score in the first inning.

LHP Chandler Alderman made his sixth start of the year. He retired two Patriots (16-6) quickly in the top of the frame but couldn't get the last out before DBU scored four in the first on a grand slam, the first home run allowed by Alderman this season.

The Patriots' offense pounced again in every inning until the sixth, when Matthew Driver came into the game on the mound. He threw a perfect inning, striking out one, as he works his way back to full health.

MTSU's offense showed life late, scoring seven runs in the final three innings, but that wasn't enough as the Blue Raiders suffered their second CUSA loss of the season, 25-7.

18: Eston Snider extended his on-base streak to 18 games with his leadoff single in the first inning. He finished the game 3-for-4 with two RBIs, increasing his batting average to .427, which is second in Conference USA.
